Endnotes to Plato: An Essay on Eco-Monism

    Book Cover

Endnotes to Plato: An Essay on Eco-Monism

For a long time, philosophy has been characterized as a series of footnotes to Plato. Endnotes to Plato reimagines this legacy, offering a bold and timely exploration of eco-monism — an emerging paradigm in environmental humanities that unifies nature and culture into one ontological whole.

Through eight polyphonic “endnotes,” the book weaves together analytic philosophy, science studies, critical theory, and literary criticism to challenge the binarist divide between nature and culture, a legacy traceable to Plato and his disciples. It argues that this divide has shaped environmental discourse in limiting, even anti-ecological ways. In its place, Endnotes to Plato defends a version of neutral eco-monism inspired by Bruno Latour’s theory of modernity, while addressing ethical concerns about incommensurability by articulating it in the vocabulary of relations.

Provocative and deeply interdisciplinary,
Endnotes to Plato contends that delineating the foundations of eco-monism is imperative for envisioning environmental justice, and recognizing Plato’s ecological legacy is indispensable to this delineation. Above all, it invites us to rethink the philosophical frameworks that have shaped our world — and to envisage new ones for the warming globe ahead.

“If research and writing in the humanities is, as I believe, ultimately about making meaning — and opening the possibility of meaningful change — within a messy and uncertain world, then I count myself lucky to have seen such a thing come to fruition over the course of our research collaboration [on
Endnotes to Plato].” — R Baker, PhD Student in English, UCSB

“Kevin’s work is remarkable. I haven’t taught graduate students, but I expect his work is the sort for which one would hope for one’s graduate students. … His is among the most impressive work I’ve had from a student in my over-twenty years as a professor. Kevin is a special student and his research was nothing short of superb.” — David Dudrick, George Carleton Jr. Professor of Philosophy, Colgate University

The New PSYCHOLOGY: A Unified Field of Brain, Mind, Behavior, Perception, Culture...

 Book Cover

The New PSYCHOLOGY:

A Unified Field of Brain, Mind, Behavior, Perception, Culture...

480 Pages, 8.5X11” Fully Illustrated These are the bits and pieces that make up a deep understanding of our mind.

Psychology controls the biology of our brain. At the witch trials in Salem, when the girls began to shriek “Witch, Witch!”adrenaline and cortisol would have shot into the bloodstream of the spectators. Neurotransmitters would have surged through their brain. Their very brain waves would have shot up from 12 to 40 cycles per second. A P300 brain wave would have screamed “ALERT”. Their heart jumped. A chill went up their spine.

We know this because the same thing happens in America today among those watching a Hollywood horror movie about witches, zombies, demons, murder and more. This is basic to understanding how our brain works in dealing with anxiety, depression, politics, love, sex, interpersonal relations, and life.
PSYCHOLOGY CONTROLS THE BIOLOGY OF OUR BRAIN. Knowing how this works is essential to understanding how our mind works. The failure to understand that has led to the media's preoccupation with claiming it is all in your DNA or biochemistry; a media preoccupied with the magic words of DNA and biochemicals in the brain cannot grasp a deeper level of understanding.
All teachers are inspired by the idea, however hopeful, that we are getting something across that someday, someway, will benefit our students, make their life better, and give them the tools that they need to understand a very difficult world.

In a critical study by Harvard, MIT, The National Science Foundation, and the Smithsonian, they found that we are often unable to get across even the most basic of ideas that we teach.

A study by the prestigious PEW Research Center found that America ranks 24th in the world in science. Why?
We still teach by rote memory and we have failed to get across the very information we need to think with.
In psychology, students flock to our courses, eager to learn the lessons of life, how their mind works, and how to understand others. They want to understand what the world is all about. Yet what they learn is often that they must memorize vast amounts of data, studies, and jargon that make little sense in how to apply what they learn to the real world. They memorize what they need to know to pass a test, not what they need to know to understand life.

These are the bits and pieces that make up a deep understanding of how the mind works. Welcome to the deep woods...

A Story of Ambition, Consequence, and Redemption

Success is never as simple as it seems. The Graduate introduces readers to Daniel, a determined and perceptive college graduate stepping into the real world with high hopes and unwavering resolve. Armed with ambition and a thirst for achievement, he quickly discovers that life beyond academia is far more complicated than he imagined. Opportunities come knocking, but so do challenges—unexpected sacrifices, ethical dilemmas, and the constant struggle between staying true to himself and meeting the expectations of society. As Daniel grapples with these tensions, he must learn that the road to success is paved with difficult choices, self-discovery, and the resilience to withstand setbacks. In The Graduate: Part 2, Daniel seems to have it all—wealth, power, and the recognition he has always craved. He has climbed the ladder, built an empire, and positioned himself as a formidable force in the business world. But at the peak of his success, the past refuses to stay buried. Old enemies reappear, unresolved mistakes haunt him, and family conflicts threaten to tear apart the foundation he has built. Every step forward feels like a step closer to disaster as the weight of his past choices grows unbearable. Now, Daniel must navigate high-stakes business deals, intense personal entanglements, and an ever-growing sense of isolation. As trust becomes a rare commodity and every move could mean the difference between survival and collapse, he is forced to question everything he once believed about success. What happens when ambition pushes a man to the edge? When does the pursuit of power become a burden rather than a victory? This gripping sequel explores the price of ambition and the fragility of power. The Graduate: Part 2 is not just about reaching the top—it’s about what it takes to stay there. Daniel must confront his demons, face the consequences of his past, and decide whether true success lies in wealth and influence or in the courage to change. With everything on the line, the question remains: Will he overcome the shadows of his own making, or will his ambition consume him? For readers who love stories of ambition, redemption, and high-stakes drama, The Graduate series delivers an unforgettable journey through the highs and lows of chasing one’s dreams.
