Many may say that spirituality and psychology are two different components of an individual's health. However, I want to draw attention to the reality that spirituality and psychology are connected as one, viewed as two different factors used to improve a person's health and well-being. The American Psychological Association defines psychology as the study of the mind and behavior. Dr. Elizabeth Scott described spirituality as the broad concept of a belief in something beyond the self. God, the Creator of life, gives us the ability to understand our very existence and enables us to understand our minds and behaviors. James 1:5 tells us that if we lack wisdom, we can ask God for it, and he will give us the wisdom we ask for. With God's understanding, we can grasp concepts that no human mind could ever conceive. This book will connect the bible with psychological therapeutic models to show the overlap of each perspective and bring them together as one
